The Family Folk Chorale - Love is the Seventh Wave
The Music of Sting and Peter Gabriel
Two of music’s most iconic songwriters, Sting and Peter Gabriel came to prominence in their respective bands the Police and Genesis in the 1970’s. They each went on to highly successful solo careers, eventually becoming Rock and Roll hall of fame inductees. Their music has spoken to generations of music lovers over the past 50 years.
The songs of these two artists reside beautifully side by side in a concert program. From poignant solo vocalists to big choral chords, a driving rock band, and a kicking brass section these iconic songs will be heard afresh. FFC Artistic Director Chris Eastburn has crafted a dynamic and satisfying concert program with sweeping energetic arcs and sensitive arrangements for our intergenerational palette of voices, while highlighting the tenderness, fun, and energy in this music. These incredible songs will be writ large in surround-sound chorus backed by the band, featuring some of the Boston area’s most versatile musicians. Eastburn adds “This music is sonically expansive and fits naturally on the broad emotional range and canvas of our large intergenerational choir and rock band!”
Join us at Arlington Town Hall as we (and you and yours) raise our voices in song!
Family Folk Chorale concerts are described by audience members as a musical "experience” or “happening” that hails to a time when live music was part of the daily fabric of home and community. Perfect for people of all ages – each concert program provides opportunities to sing and dance along, printed lyrics, refreshments, and a floor seating area up front for young children.
Bake Sale at intermission will feature a scrumptious variety of snacks, including gluten-free and nut-free options. Historic Arlington Town Hall is a fully accessible venue. Take the MBTA bus #77 from Harvard Square, or you’ll find plenty of free, on-street and public lot parking on Sundays. Walk to dinner after the concert at one of Arlington Center's eateries and cafes.
Box office opens one hour before the concert starts.
